Types of essays

In order to write any kind of a creative content proper planning, selection of words and organizing of thoughts is required. Same goes when it comes to writing a college essay. An essay is divided into four categories:

1)Expository: This type of essay involves the writers thought on a particular issue or event. In this case, it is necessary to provide examples or evidence that supports the thoughts or the explanation.

2)Persuasive: As the name suggests, this type of essay is normally written from the point of view of the writer, in order to persuade people to adopt the idea. To the reader, it should not sound like a compulsion which says, “You have to buy my essay”, instead it should be like “You will want to buy my essay”. It is necessary to have a specific point of view which is very clear to the reader, should also have proper reasons that backs up the matter, should have a strong conclusion.

3)Analytical: It is sort of an experimental essay which includes analysis, examination and interpretation relating to any subject or event or any artistic work. It has four major segments in it. First is introducing and presenting the argument, then analyzing the content, third one is the writers own thoughts about it and lastly the conclusion.

4)Argumentative: It is about presenting an argument about a particular topic, event, subject, etc. It is an idea that opposes the other ideas and that what makes it different from persuasive essay.
